About Qing Dao
Qing Dao was formed in 1995 by Frances Roper, who at that time, had been living and working in Hong Kong for nearly 8 years. With many years sourcing and merchandising experience in China, along with a keen appreciation of 'Oriental style' ... it made the creation of Qing Dao an irresistible proposition.
We still make regular trips into China to source a wide selection of Chinese Antiques, all unique, interesting and beautiful. Clients often ask us to source particular pieces and we are happy to provide this very personal service. Our expertise and impeccable judgement in the world of Oriental Furniture ensures that our Clients can buy, or place a customised order, with complete confidence.
Although most of our pieces are genuine antiques, it is often very difficult to date them accurately - hence we refer to our furniture as ‘old with character’. Most pieces have undergone investigative work and sympathetic restoration, using (wherever possible) traditional Chinese methods, lacquers and finishes.

Our new original Yin Yang collection is now available, stylish and contemporary furniture inclusive of some rather special finishing touches. The Yin Yang collection symbolises ideas from both the East & West resulting in sophisticated and unpretentious design.
Bespoke Service
We offer a design service for bespoke furniture which can help turn your ideas into a reality. Our designs offer functionality, contemporary or traditional styles with a flavour of the Orient.
Shipments
Regular shipments arrive at our spacious Warehouse & Showroom in Maidstone, Kent, and we are committed to maintaining and providing a source of exotic and unusual pieces. We have a passion for our Furniture and a determination to go that extra mile in order to deliver a friendly, reliable and very personal service to all our Clients.
